notes:
- early April shows good growth at back porch; seedlings that stayed over the winter in growth bags are looking good
- Frontenacs are considerably late compared to Osceola Muscats
- April night sub zero (that is below 32F for Celsius impaired folks) temperatures are no match to a 2kw porch heater
- by 21st of May the new bare root seedlings for the year are all in grow bags and most pushing leaves already: Amberlina, Solaris, Marsanne and Roussanne
- 24.5. frosty morning. Fireboxes and fans deployed. Unfortunately I have to assume some damage has occured
- has been a cool start for the summer. Temps at or below +20c
- short warm spell to start July, rainy days forecasted after

1.7.2025
- Marsanne and Roussanne seedlings are doing very well in grow bags
- Solars and Aberlinas, 25 each, now planted open field
- pictured here is an Amberlina after 2 months in grow bag in near
greenhouse conditions
- you may be able to see that the new root growth is pushing out from
the holes of the plastic grow bag

- finally forecast is for warmer temperatures
- on open field the growth is still miniscule
- only a long long summer w/ warm fall can save the crops

31.7.
- well, we got it; 18 days and counting +30c in Finland
- at Clos Haga temps been between +25c -- +31c
- now we would need a bit or rain; there is always
something that could be better :)

11.8.
July was warm. The +30c consecutive days temperature
record in Finland is now 21 days. Brix measures are
meagre 4 to 6 across. A lot needs to happen in the next 4-6
weeks

23.8.
After the warm spell, the fall arrived one month early.
2025 is a year when summer came one month late and
fall arrived one month early.
Barring any major weather miracle eg summer returning
in September I do not think any open field vine will be mature.

6.10.2025
Well, no such miracle. Brix stayed below 15, mostly in 13 +/- range. First week of October we had a number of sub zero nights. That is in Celsius, for those who wonder. I took a small load, just to go through the wine making process. To test the gear I have. I am not optimistics about the end result, but hey ... importat knowledge ref the equipment. I do need some upgrades and additions for 2026.
